About me
Hi, I’m Ute. I’m a mindfulness coach, yoga teacher, and a mom of twins.
Before becoming a parent, I spent many years studying and practicing mindfulness and yoga. I completed my PhD at Imperial College London, where I explored the connection between mindfulness and behaviour change. During that time, I also trained as a yoga teacher at Triyoga London and began teaching at colleges and small yoga studios.
In the years prior to moving to London, I studied social sciences in Germany and Brazil, where I continued living and working in the German-Brazilian bilateral cooperation for sustainable development.
But it was only when my daughters were born that all of these experiences became truly real for me.
They were born during the pandemic, at a time when we were largely on our own—my husband working full-time, our families far away, and very little support due to isolation and distancing.
Those early months and years were intense. There was very little time or space for formal practice, and many of the things I had learned before simply didn’t fit into daily life anymore.
And yet, mindfulness became more important than ever.
Not as something separate that I had to “do”, but as something that helped me stay with what was there—through exhaustion, overwhelm, and also through moments of deep connection and joy.
I began to understand mindfulness in a much more practical and grounded way: something that happens in the middle of everyday life, while holding a baby, soothing, feeding, or simply getting through the day.
This experience shapes how I work today.
Alongside my own journey through early parenthood, I completed a professional training in mindfulness-based life coaching in Germany, deepening my work in supporting others through everyday challenges and transitions.
I don’t expect you to have time for long practices or perfect routines. Instead, I support you in finding ways to stay present and connected within the reality of your life as a parent.
My work is gentle, practical, and rooted in real experience—both my own and what I have learned through research, teaching, and working with parents. While mindful awareness can support us through very difficult moments, I also believe in bringing lightness, humour, and self-compassion into the messiness of everyday family life.
If you are looking for support, you are very welcome to reach out or book a short introductory call.
I would be happy to meet you.
